    Amelia Flower-Emblen

My name is Amelia Flower-Emblen, and I am also happy to say a Member of NEAS.

For me, art is very important, it’s my entire childhood, and I am determined it will be my future too.

I began art when I was quite young. Mostly I do comics, combining my story-writing skills with graphic design. I do all sorts though, from digital graphic novels using programmes like Krita (which is like Photoshop), through making animations with Blender (a 3D programme) to acrylic paintings on canvas, watercolour painting, graphite and charcoal sketches, ink line-art and sometimes small sculptures.

I also like to learn new ways to draw and I’m always improving on my artistic skills.

With challenges in life I did not have access to art classes or even a friend/family member as a teacher, and thus I am completely self taught in all art, though for writing I had many siblings to learn from.

Classic style art is what I enjoy, and I highly regard realism and hyper realism. Though it turns out I’m pretty good at impressionism too.

Currently I have only been a part of the “Peace with Justice Hand in Hand” exhibition, but I hope to expand on that!

I have also won the Youth Art Award at the Coffs Coast Art Competition 2024, with my ink-on-paper work “Black Whisper”
