Julia Hardman

My parents16th  birthday gift was a watercolour paint set. From that day began my interest in all things art.

Teaching art theory and practise became fundamental in my Primary and Secondary school teaching. Design and Technology, Ceramics and Visual Arts focussed my teaching over many years.

My role as Education Officer at New England Regional Art Museum provided access for all students in the district to engage with every exhibition. Talks and workshops to students and visitors, in collaboration with the Board of Studies Visual Arts curriculum, was part of my employment.

My studio and gallery is in our garden in Arding and is  open to the public. We have hosted six  Open  Garden and Gallery fund raising weekends over the years and thoroughly enjoyed each one.  The garden is ever inspirational for my sketches and en plein air watercolours and  provides excellent practice for my travels.
