Timber is my medium.
I have a love for the bush, trees and the wonderful items that can be made in wood.
After retiring from a teaching career I took “Fine Furniture” classes with Mark Teege and discovered many ways to enjoy creating with wood.
My Dad was a skilled carpenter and from my early years allowed me to make various boats, planes and such in his workshop. I now have many of his tools and I believe my love of wood comes from him.
Beautiful pieces of timber can become a useful bowl, a set of coasters, or perhaps an animal such as a turtle, echidna or wombat.
My shed and garden hold numerous pieces of wood waiting to be revealed!
Being involved on the Armidale Art Gallery committee, and helping with the gallery has allowed me to learn more about art in so many forms.
