A journey of creativity arising from the 2024 NEAS Annual Artists Retreat.

The retreat was attended by our members Sue Fisher, Ros Brady, Tess Cullen, Annie Ross, Pam Holland, Kim Carruthers, Robin Parker & Lorraine Kelleher.

Step into our unforgettable and unique experience through this exhibition inspired by the 2024 annual Artists Retreat, held in the heart of Kwiambal National Park.

Eight artists journeyed to and became immersed in stunning natural beauty, where diverse flora and fauna meet scenic walks and panoramic vistas.

Together, we shared stories, aspirations, and artistic visions, sketching, painting, and capturing the essence of the park as we explored its perfect balance of isolation and serenity.

Some of us ventured on treks through the wilderness, while others meandered down to the river just steps from our accommodation.

Everywhere we looked, the vibrant wattle was in full bloom, kangaroos grazed peacefully, and the occasional emu startled us with its sudden presence.

The Park’s awe-inspiring sunsets, dramatic waterfalls, and tranquil waterways sparked our creativity, inspiring an outpouring of art.

This retreat has blossomed into an exciting exhibition, opening on March 1, 2025, showcasing the work of the artists who experienced Kwiambal’s beauty firsthand.

Join us in celebrating our responses to this the creative journey.

Kwiambal National Park, located north of Inverell, was the perfect destination to unwind, explore, and ignite our artistic spirit.
