Barbara Lanham

Barbara Lanham has loved drawing and painting all her life. As a child she would spend all her pocket money on pencils and paper instead of lollies.

Yet it wasn’t until 2010 that she had her first solo exhibition where she discovered that this very exciting event was made even more so by selling many of the paintings.

Mainly a self- taught artist Barbara, with a feel for acrylics and pastels, she says that attending workshops is “invaluable for giving a better understanding of how to achieve what I wanted.” Whilst living in Toowoomba she attended creative classes at the McGregor Winter School at the University of Southern Queensland. She won the Kenneth McQueen Memorial Watercolour Award at the Toowoomba Royal Show not once but twice.  And says the highlight in her artistic life was a wonderful three weeks spent painting on the Greek Islands in 2015 with international pastel artist Karol Oakley.

“What a journey this has been and now I present another collection of my work for all to enjoy.”
