Lavender Homestead, Kwiambal National Park
Our annual WEEKEND RETREAT was held at the Lavender Homestead, Kwiambal National Park.
The weekend brought together a small group of artists to explore and experience the natural flora and fauna close to the Kwiambal National Park with is stunning views and walks.
Kwiambal National Park is a secluded reserve North of Inverell offering swimming, scenic picnic opportunities. Pronounced Kigh-am-bal, Kwiambal National Park is a quiet achiever. Tucked away near the NSW-Queensland border, its isolation is also its attraction: come for the nature, stay for the privacy. The rivers are a prime attraction, offering plunge pools, beaches, and scenic waterfalls best seen from one of the several lookouts scattered around the park. Walking trails thread through cool forest and are scaled for many levels of fitness.
We brought along a current work to work on, took lots of photos, shared stories as we explored a number of areas of the Park. The experience eveloves into an exhibition held in March 2025. Wattle, Walks and Water.
