    Sat AUG 16 2025 - Sat 13 Oct

The weather in 2019 was horrendous with drought, dwindling water supplies, out of control bushfires, choking bushfire smoke, dust storms and (to find something positive!) some quite remarkable sunsets. "2019 Not Forgotten" is an exhibition of Terry Cooke's 2019 photography documenting some of those extreme weather conditions in and around Armidale. A display of Terry's books, prints and cards will also form part of this exhibition.

  • Armidale Art Gallery

New England Art Society (NEAS) is a collective of artists. We began in 1995, wanting to promote art of the region and facilitate a space in a central location to showcase local works.

NEAS provides a friendly, convenient and relaxed gallery space in Beardy Street Mall in the heart of Armidale – the Armidale Art Gallery.

Annually, members of the more than 100 strong artists collective get involved in holding numerous individual and group exhibitions, support local festivals, promote New England artists, run art prizes and workshops as well as hosting an annual retreat.

NEAS relies on its members to not only fill the Gallery with their diverse artwork but also to work together to fill the many roles it takes to run a Gallery, to keep it open allowing access for the public to discover the talent that can be found in this region.

Armidale Art Gallery offers a unique platform for both established and emerging local artists to showcase their work in one of Armidale’s most prominent locations.

Committed to fostering and supporting creativity within the New England regional arts community, the Gallery hosts a diverse range of exhibitions featuring original paintings, drawings, photography, prints, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, and jewellery.

The Gallery also serves as a welcoming and relaxed venue for workshops, small group activities, and events.

Conveniently located in the heart of Armidale’s shopping precinct on Beardy Street, it is easily accessible to visitors.

Operated by New England Art Society Inc. (NEAS), and situated at 149 Beardy St, Central Mall, Armidale.

NEAS is a not for profit community organisation dedicated to stimulating and supporting creativity in the New England regional arts community.

The gallery caters to our artists with a permanent display space for Painting, Works on Paper, Sculpture, Ceramics, Textiles, Jewellery and more.

The New England Art Society runs the annual Armidale Art Prize, a Miniatures exhibition, and across December and January we present the Summer Show, a members only exhibition.
