This course is more than just learning to paint — it’s about developing the artist’s eye. You’ll explore how to truly see the landscape, understand colour relationships, mix a rich variety of tones, and build layers that create depth, focus, and atmosphere on canvas. From composition and texture to light and detail, every lesson is designed to help you achieve the results you’ve always wanted in your artwork.
With a strong focus on painting trees within the landscape the subject matter will expand into skies, dramatic scenery, reflections in water, and the luminous colours of dawn and dusk, allowing you to continue building your skills and artistic confidence.

Course Tutor:
Tess Cullen is a landscape painter with over 40 years experience in painting and teaching. Trained as a realistic painter Tess has a particular love of nature and features the beauty of trees in the landscape her work. She would like to share her skills with you.

This course is only a beginning to be followed by more Let’s Paint classes where your skills will increase as we explore more aspects of landscape painting and work towards completing work of your own choosing.
