New England Artists Retreat 2025

NEAS Annual Retreat
One of the most anticipated events on our annual calendar is the Artists’ Retreat, a cherished tradition for our members. Held across the Northern Tablelands, the retreat offers a few unforgettable days to unwind, create, and connect. Whether walking through serene landscapes, painting in nature’s studio, or simply relaxing about and chatting with fellow artists, the camaraderie and shared experiences spark inspiration. With time to pursue their own creative passions, participants enjoy a relaxed pace complemented by shared meals and a celebratory touch of bubbles in the evenings.
The retreat is a highlight for artists of all levels, from seasoned exhibitors to enthusiastic beginners, and it has grown increasingly popular each year. A few months after each retreat, participants have the opportunity to showcase their work in a dedicated exhibition at the Armidale Art Gallery.
Our 2025 Retreat will be on the banks of Copeton Lake
Friday 29 August – September 1 2025
Why not join us for the 2025 retreat? With the Copeton Lake as the next location we are planning another beautiful and inspiring time which promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Copeton Lake & Dam is a popular inland sport and recreation destination catering for water sports, fishing, nature lovers, bush walkers, artists and photographers. Located 1 hour north west of Armidale, the dam when at full capacity is 3 times the size of Sydney Harbour.
Come along and recharge your batteries with fresh air and like minded artists.
We will be staying at the Copeton Waters Bunkhouse which overlooks the beautiful lake.
Cost for NEAS members: $320 / non-members: $360
A $50 deposit is needed to secure your place at the retreat.
