An acrylic painting class where you can develop your skills painting figurative landscapes and trees.
If you have dreamt of painting more realistic scenes – but weren’t sure where to start or how to get the results you want – then mastering trees within the landscape is one of the keys to success and this is the course for you.
Tess will take you through the fundamentals of seeing, mixing colour, layering the painting and keeping an overall focus. Throughout the course you will guided step by step to grow your artistic skills and deepen your knowledge with the intention of you acquiring new ways to paint to achieve what you want on canvas. Your technical skills will increase and develop as we work through many exercises and paintings for you to develop the skills of how to paint what you see.

Pitched at the intermediate level, this course will increase your skills as we expand the subject matter into broader landscape views. We will cover creating a depth of field, the earthy colours of the trees and the variety of colours found in the sky – be they summer blues, moody scenes or clouded vistas.
Tess Cullen is a landscape painter with over 40 years experience in painting and teaching. She has a particular love of trees and nature and would like to share her skills with you.
