Inspiration comes from many places……. Nature, the ocean, other artists, light, weather, experiences, travel, textures, movement, colour vibrations, a sense of order within the chaos, textiles, lines and shapes that create pattern and designs.

Every day is a new adventure! Creativity, travel and nature nurture my soul and give me a sense of freedom.

My art takes me to a place of peace and stillness, to a place in time, a memory of how I felt, what I could hear, the textures and what I saw. I create, so others can sense or feel that joy that I experienced then.

Growing up in the Manning Valley in a rural environment, cultivated my love of nature, texture and colour.

While studying for my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sydney, I extended my ideas through photography, drawing, painting, textiles and design.

Throughout my life, while working mainly in retail, I dabbled in many creative fields including rug design, ticket writing, murals, window dressing and visual merchandising, property-styling, photography, working with fabrics and sewing, project management and new store set ups.

I have a strong connection with the New England region and spend many weeks of the year photographing the changing seasons of this beautiful region.

Since retiring I spend more time on my creative endeavours, trying new techniques and giving a new twist on the normal.

From intricate pulled and woven thread pieces, to using stitches to produce texture and line. Using modelling paste or tissue paper to create surface texture and silicone oil to repel paint, to create cells in flow paintings.

More recently I have taken up watercolours, which are so different from acrylics and am keen to explore printmaking techniques and cyanotype.
