Tue 29 April 2025 – Tues 1 July
Time: 2 – 4pm
Venue: Armidale Art Gallery
Eve Kennedy teaches the skills of using colour to describe and enhance moods, emotions, settings and seasons in our work.
This course is fun but comprehensive in the coverage of popular colour schemes used in artwork, from the Masters through to Contemporary artists.
Whether you have been creating art for a while or just getting started, its important to study colour.
Understanding how colour plays subtle roles in the creative process, such as to suggest mood, depict times of day or night and illuminate the seasons, and will enhance your work. For any artwork to truly sing it must be composed with the dynamics of colour in mind.
We investigate primary, secondary and intermediate colours and how tints and shades interrelate.
We also explore the rule of simultaneous contrast; how to create a range of whites and discover that black is not always black.
I look forward to guiding you on your colour journey.
