Botanical Monotype Printing

With Lizzie Horne

SATURDAY 30 JANUARY
1.00 – 4.00pm

Cost: $105/ $95 NEAS Members

Creating monotypes (one-off prints) using dried plant material through the press.

We’ll play with colours and layers to create beautiful prints and have fun! No experience necessary.

Lizzie Horne is an award-winning printmaker who has been exhibiting and teaching for many years.

Her prints have been short-listed for numerous national print awards, including the 2024 Australian Monoprint Prize.

She is a foundation member of the Black Gully Printmakers at NERAM.

Start collecting leaves and flowers to dry and press. Feathers are great, too. Botanical material must be dry and fairly flat (ie not nuts or bulbous material) to go through the press. Place your items in a heavy book inside some baking paper (to protect the book!).

Bring an apron and nitrile gloves if you want to wear them (saves a lot of hand-washing).

Materials provided (included in the fee) : Etching paper, ink, oil for cleaning and paper towels and a selection of botanicals.
All equipment including 2 presses.
