Red Ochre, Blue Skies: Reimaginings from Central Australia traces a visual journey from direct observation to semi-abstract interpretation, inspired by an eight-day tour of the West McDonnell Ranges and Uluru.
Through layered textures, expressive mark-making, and a palette drawn from the muted earth tones and vibrant reds, ochres and blues of the region, Jackie seeks to capture her emotional and sensory experience of place — the vastness of the desert sky, the intensity of colour, the ancient geology, and the shifting atmosphere of the land — while exploring the relationship between landscape, perception and memory.
This exhibition invites viewers to move beyond the recognisable landscape and engage with the feeling, rhythm, and essence of a place that is both physically powerful and deeply evocative.
