Therese Fitzgerald is currently living in Armidale and likes to do creative things such as cooking, gardening, community volunteering and painting.
Her painting focus is on the abstract with colour.
She has won an art award in the open category during the 2013 NAIDOC celebrations, followed by an exhibition at the NEAS Gallery.
She also exhibited with friends in 2018.
Therese’s approach to her work is using mixed mediums, perhaps pencil or acrylic paint, layering the paint with a palette knife in an individual style.
“I like to see it work out on the canvas. Applying the paint is both enjoyable and exciting. I work away at it until I’m happy with the end result. The colour and design in the painting comes from within.
I am able to change the colour, style or design to a raw, natural painting. Ideas can aslo be visual, for example experiences and travel both open and from the imagination”.
