With Annie Minton
Day: Sunday 5 July
Cost: $120 / $100 NEAS Members
Time: 9am – 4.30pm
Skill Level: Beginners to Advanced
Materials: Included but please bring your own desktop easel and backing board.

In this one day workshop everyone will be working from the same supplied reference photo and using a limited colour palette of supplied pastel pencils and soft pastels. This is so that we can cover more ground over a short period of time.
We will discuss how to take the ideal pet portrait photo and the importance of this; how to measure your reference and mark out your drawing so that your proportions are correct; how to choose the best pastel paper and pastels, and how to plan your backgrounds.
Pet portraiture can be quite lucrative if you have a talent for it, and also make great gifts for family and friends.
Learning how to draw pets accurately is also a good grounding if you want to be able to draw/paint farm or wild animals in landscapes.
The class will be limited to 8 people.
